Oleg Postnov ((ロシア語:Олег Постнов); born 1962) is a Russian author, university professor, philologist and a literary critic. Postnov is an internationally acclaimed novelist most recognized for his philosophical fiction about love. The critics have described Postnov's work as an amalgamation of the Russian's classics: "as if Vladimir Nabokov took on a rewrite of Gogol's ''Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka''"—with the added "macabre of Edgar Allan Poe." In the 1990s, Postnov briefly lived in the United States. He described the experience in several essays, including "USA: the Art of Shopping" and "USA: the State of Snow." Postnov's novel ''Angst'' has been translated into German. == Early years and education == Postnov was born in Russian Akademgorodok to G.S. Postnov, a philology professor. He graduated from the Novosibirsk University, the Humanities Division. In 1990, Oleg Postnov received his PhD. Postnov's doctoral thesis "Goncharov's Esthetics" was published several years after his graduation as an in depth study with the target audience of the researches specializing in literature studies and the history of aesthetics."
